Greetings from all of us here at Tin Can Music. We are a group of people who are passionate about music. We write and perform, we teach, and we
encourage others to love music as much as we do.
Our music school takes students of all ages and abilities – the youngest was four and the oldest so far was 86 years old. We teach from beginners to advanced students, offering individual and group lessons, ensembles and band training.
Our senior music teacher is Michael Engberg who has years of experience teaching and playing all over the world. He has been teaching here in Hervey Bay for the last five years and we are proud to have him join our team.
Our Teaching tab will show you what’s available and we hope you’ll be joining us soon.
We are a private music school teaching here in Hervey Bay. We have a local music studio with a welcoming environment for children and families.
Our music co-ordinator and senior teacher is Michael Engberg who’s been teaching at a range of schools in the Bay for the last few years. He has a Masters in Music and has been teaching and performing for over 20 years.
Our team teaches a range of instruments – strings, keyboard, trumpet, saxophone, flute and can also teach singing, music theory, composition and song writing.
Our team has studied learning and teaching techniques relating to both children and adults and they work well with people of all ages and skill levels.
Our teachers are kind and generous and have significant experience working with students with additional needs.
The major aim of our school is to pass on our enjoyment of music and to ensure that learning is fun for everyone involved.
Our standard lesson is 30 minutes long and while they are usually weekly,
we can negotiate individual timetables (eg if you only have the kids every second week, or your work means you’re away, or you want a longer time etc) if needed.
We teach all ages from beginners to advanced students.
We can teach you to read music or work with TAB and we can play and teach most forms from Classical to Rock.
We find making a connection with the audience incredibly rewarding. Our entertainment style is relaxed and cheerful, with easy listening, familiar tunes which resonate with people. If you are looking for music to take you dancing, enjoying, and remembering, JaM play classics from the 60s 70s 80s 90s, naughties to today, in addition to a classical guitar duet repertoire suitable for background professional function ambiance.
